Lately I am planting seeds or whatever piece of plant indoors that may eventually grow into new life. As I enjoy follow everyday how my friend tree-in-front-of-my-flat is loosing its leaves, I am thrilled by the idea of observe new plants rooting, growing and, I hope one day, blooming.
The first seeds I planted were from pumpkin (I love them, so tasty!). Pumpkin should be planted in spring in order to harvest the fruit in early autumn, but I felt like trying indoors, the temperature and humidity are quite stable and close to spring conditions. What is missing maybe is proper daily sunlight… but so far, they are growing.
Today I was thinking what will eventually happen with the sprouts, will they realize this is a fake spring? That they are growing off season? And they will not produce any fruit? And exactly these words turned up into my mind like a spark. Happens often to all of us, we feel it is not the right time for this or too late/early for that. Like growing pumpkins in autumn or harvesting pumpkins in spring.
But here they are, my pumpkin sprouts, greening my room out of season. I will water them, and keep a proper temperature to make them grow. Maybe they will just wait until the right season will come again, or maybe they will grow despite days are shorter and outdoors is slowly becoming quiet, ready to welcome the winter. Whatever it goes, I am with them, doing my best growing even when sometimes I feel like resting.
Happy inverted Halloween!
